Ahoy, ya rough an' handsome lot!
'Umble Will Teach 'ere, lettin' ya know tha latest a' tha latest Corsairs news.
This be just a brief missive lettin' ya know that Tha Corsairs is still alive.
We been gettin' a lot a' people signin' up fer tha mailin' list lately.
Apparently some a' ya missed tha message that we wasn't doin' Scarberry this
year, an' ya wanna know what tha H-E-double-balayin'-pins we is doin' with our
time. Well, we been bustin' our asses workin' on tha next record. Yep, while all
tha rennies been sweatin' their broad-axes off in tha summer heat, we've been
comin' ta Cap'n Morgan's house (en tha air-conditioned coolness) an' workin' on
new material. (That's right . . . while yer out standin' in tha sun at Scarberry,
we're workin' indoors . . . think about that tha next time yer wonderin' what
Tha Corsairs are up to).
Our next record is tentatively called "9 Live", with tha "i" pernounced tha long
way. (Like Morris tha Cat, but without tha "s" on tha end.) 'Cause ya see, it'll
be our 9th record, and people has been buggin' us fer years ta make a live
recording. So, if everthin' goes as planned, next year ya kin buy tha 9th
Corsairs CD, and it'll be a live record.
Now I know what yer thinkin' . . . they take a year off an' then cop out by
makin' a live album? Not so fast there, puddin'head. Tha new record is gonna be
all new material, just racorded live. We has got some new songs we is really
proud of, includin' one writ by Cap'n Morgan, and another that Cap'n Morgan an'
I wrot last New Year's Eve. We got lotsa more songs that ya may have heard, but
we're doin' 'em in a whole differnt way. Ef ya ain't heard 'em tha way we do 'em,
ya ain't heard 'em.
We has defernitely committed to a performance at tha Open Door Coffee House fer
next Febyary. Tha grand re-amergence of Tha Corsairs. I wouldn't dare miss it .
. . will you? There may be a performance later this year, but don't hold yer
breath. Ef somthin' comes down tha pike, those on this list will be tha first ta
know. Ga-ronn-tee.
