Spend the day in the 16th Century and have the time of your life. in Crownsville, outside of Annapolis, MD The Maryland Renaissance Festival is a recreation of a 16th century English village. Our village is named Revel Grove, and is set on a beautiful 25-acre wooded site with 85 acres of free parking. The village consists of craft and food booths, five pubs, eight major stages, a Jousting Arena and lots of games. Every day is a Festival Day in Revel Grove, in honor of a visit by Henry VIII and his Royal Court. As such, the village will have entertainment, crafts, food, and frivolity fit for a king!
Travel back in time and join us somewhere in the middle ages or if you prefer, the renaissance. Our Queen Arianna invites you to join our villagers in a wonderful celebration with games, feasting, entertainments, sword fighting in the streets, music and shopping. Guests entering the shire of Silver Leaf are greeted and made welcome by peasants, musicians, villagers and idiots (sorry). Guests may partake of theatre, comedy shows, jousting tournaments, and more. Delicious Renaissance foods and handmade crafts complete the olde world experience. This festive village atmosphere is complemented by hundreds of costumed entertainers performing both on-stage and off all day every day.
Manheim, PA Named one of the Top 100 Events In America by the American Bus Association, the Faire, with a cast of 100's of colorfully costumed merriemakers, is a rollicking recreation of a 16th Century country festival celebrating a visit by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth I, "God Save The Queen!" The Faire site is a remarkably authentic 35 acre Elizabethan village with over 100 Tudor structures, including 12 stages highlighted by a magnificent three story recreation of Shakespeare's very own Globe Theatre. The Faire's backdrop are the towering pines and specimen trees of the Victorian Mount Hope Estate gardens. Over 70 shows daily take place on the Faire's 12 stages, including a remarkably lifelike battle of lance and shield by the Faire's three member jousting troupe. Two jousting performances are held each day, including the "Final Joust" and each takes place upon the Faire's 7000 seat jousting amphitheater, believed to be the largest jousting arena outside of Europe.

Many have only heard brief descriptions of the SCRIBE, but still may not be aware of the full extent of the SCRIBE and its purpose in serving the renaissance faire community. Some know us as a provider of information about faires. True, we collect information on many festivals that fit into our declared time-line. Others know us for the information we store pertaining to performers, merchants, staffs and others involved within the faire community. This service alone acts as a national contact registry. Some know us for the multitude of articles, catalogs, electronic graphic art and other electronic services. Yes, there are over 1200 files with valuable information for any curious Faire Folke. Still others know of us as a good written contact point for the periodical Uproots, a tri-annual publishing of faires around the U.S. Right also! The SCRIBE is a contributing editor in the directory issues, doing layout work for both the listing and the calendar sheet. And many know of us through our participation's in the ever growing electronic forums for Faire Folke. An extensive guide to RENAISSANCE FAIRES and Medieval Festivals AROUND THE WORLD
